Lois Hedgepeth Hux, 78, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Roxboro Nursing Center. Mrs. Hux was born in Halifax Co, one of eleven children of the late Isaac Levi Hedgepeth and the late Dora Warren Hedgepeth. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Weck Closure Systems and during her retirement years volunteered at Durham Regional Hospital. Mrs. Hux was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis F. Hux; and two sisters and three brothers.

Mrs. Hux is survived by a daughter, Pam Rust and husband, Don, of Durham; two sons, Gary Hux and wife, Janice, of Hillsborough and Timothy Hux of Rougemont; siblings, Ray Hedgepeth, John Hedgepeth, Mike Hedgepeth, Dorothy Matthews, all of Halifax, NC, Lillian Ball of Mechanicsville, VA and Peggy Bishop of Durham; three grandchildren, Kevin Rust, Tabitha Smith (Lonnie) and Heather Little (Chad); and four great grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Peyton Smith, Logan Smith and Elizabeth Little.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, at 11 a.m. at Community Center Baptist Church, 1673 Ridgecrest Rd., Halifax, NC with the Rev. Grady Dickens officiating. Burial will follow at the Hedgepeth Family Cemetery, Halifax, NC. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m.
